In a land far away...(a golf course, to be exact)
Wedding bells rang...a joyous sound...for Queen Regina had finally taken a great King as her husband! Hope had been fulfilled and new Love's journey had begun.
This is how it happened....
Obnoxious alarm clocks, quick showers, toxic clouds of hairspray, bobby pins flying, last minute laundry that didn't quite make it, panic, stress, and chaos filled Regina's house as she and her seven house guests sprung into action to prepare for the big day. The wedding was to begin at 11 o'clock in the morning, and all parties were expected to arrive at the wedding venue at 7 a.m.
That didn't quite happen.
7:30 rolled around as the evil queen cosplayer arrived and dismounted her carriage...err...exited her vehicle... with an armload of boxes, bags, and her young daughter (the flower girl).
The groom had not yet arrived.
The wedding coordinator calmly greeted the bride with a mimosa and escorted the entourage downstairs to the ladies locker room, which served as our bridal suite. We put on our makeup, finished our hair, donned our gowns, and the bride was feeling nervous and anxious...planning a wedding can be quite stressful, and now that the big day was finally here, the queen just wanted everything to go smoothly!
The ladies were next...pictures seemed to last an eternity! Clouds rolled in, wind blew, rain began to fall, and the shivering bride dashed back into the building, straight into the bridal suite, and under a heater to regain warmth. The heater didn't quite meet the need...the evil queen bride remained shivering and stressed.
So...what was the solution? The groom's flask of whisky was commandeered by Janan, our wedding coordinator.
YEP! The evil queen made it through her wedding after a shot of whisky, just before ascending the staircase to meet her grandfather, who was there to escort her down the aisle. The wedding had begun!
There were many precious, unique, and special moments in our ceremony. Here are a few that I loved the most:
- Seeing that the flower girl never made it to her spot with the bridesmaids, but rather, ran to the arms of her new daddy and stayed there until the bride reached him.
- Justin getting down on one knee during the exchange of rings to give his new daughter her own ring and promise.
- Hearing Paul Kawabori sing and play for our communion (he has the voice of an angel!)
- Hearing my brother (Cameron Bergeron) and sister (Stephanie Lund) sing "I See the Light" from the Disney movie "Tangled" while Justin and I braided a cord together (a strong cord of 3 strands) to symbolize our marriage.
- Exiting to the song "Lucky" (special thanks to pianist Cole Hastie!), and feeling very relieved that the ceremony was over!
Upon making our exit out the front doors of the venue, we waved goodbye to our families and our guests, and I promptly tossed my bouquet to my lovely friend Yalina!
Lots of hugs and kisses to my daughter (it was very difficult to leave her!!!!) and away we went in the beautiful white limo. (I'd never ridden in a limo before, so this was quite fun for me). We opened some champagne and enjoyed the time to our destination by reading the kind cards from our guests.
Honeymooning at the Willows Lodge in Woodinville and then in Kauai was fantastic!
The End. And technically the beginning....
